Re: RIP Bob Stout
I am amazed reading everyone's memories of Bob. He was so special to so many. Meeting Bob Stout and Richard McFadden when I first started paddling was the best thing that could have happened to me. Many happy trips down the Buffalo with those two, he knew it like the back of his hand. He was an insp...

Yes, those are lovely. I agree, that green heron image is spectacular. Love the colors. The coots always make me laugh. Richard! You are retired! I am so happy for you. Jodi and I did get out on Jan. 1 - 45 degrees and calm. It was beautiful. We didn't see a lot of bird life but we disturbed a nappi...

Re: Info Lake Ouachita
Richard - really fun to review that slide show. Talk about hot! I remember that we went late in the afternoon and broke camp fairly early in the morning to avoid 100 degree temperatures. The good thing, you can always jump into that beautiful clear water to cool down.

Biking or hiking as well there is a newly constructed trail that you can access from the Thompkins Bend area. This lake is amazing. I live in ...

Re: Where is your best spot for Watchable Wildlife?
Lake Ouachita, the water is so clear usually so that it is fun to watch fish. I have observed fish bed or nesting areas. Butterflies, birds, snakes, beavers, otters, raccoons, deer, armadillo. Not to mention incredible wild flower stands. Getting back into the narrow coves seems best.
