Re: Cossatot Maiden Voyage
Man, I went through several years' worth of my diaries and can only find a documentation of the 1999 BMV. I do remember Kim and Dee going on one of the first ones after the 1995 canoe school, but they were in OC-1's in my Canoe School class that year. It's possible the first couple BMV's were NOT th...

Re: Composition Slalom Race boat
My nest trip down south is going to be very embarrassing, as forgetting faces from classes and river runs is going to be the norm and not the exception..... name tags or duct tape and magic marker on the helmet will help a bunch.....lol

Re: Composition Slalom Race boat
Larry, do you remember which hull design the boat is? Hard to tell from the photos. The "Edge" logo looks like an old Andy Bridge boat before he quit and went to work for Dagger.

OLD ACC NEWLETTERS IN PDF FORMAT??
Figuring it would be a real labor of love by someone, has he ACC archived the entire or partial stash of old ACC newsletters somewhere on the web?? Davey Hearn's younger brother Billy saw a Bullwinkle's Corner I wrote that the American Whitewater Journal' sort of published without out asking(they we...

Re: Water rescue on the Little Mo
First off, let me say that as post #58 of this thread, I can't add much to the outpouring of sympathy and caring that the ACC community has expressed both over this forum and from word of mouth. It's easy to sit up here in Iowa, trained as a SAR Tech II person and yet to use those skills in a meanin...

Re: Back in the Day - Old Photos
Roger: That would've been my infamous Phoenix Match wildwater kayak!!. Fast as hell and tippier than that. I once put in on the Piney at Helton's and timed the run to Long Pool at like 7' on the gauge. Took 46 minutes to do the run. Almost beat the shuttle driver down there!! Still one of my greates...

Re: Back in the Day - Old Photos
Along with all the other threads that could come from RJ's post, we should do one about Canoe School memories, including the origin of the HEX bottle. I do remember the 1990 School where Kenny Holmes and I put our OC-1 class in at the FS bridge at 2.7 feet with impending storms coming, and a bit pas...

Re: Back in the Day - Old Photos
PART II 7. PROJECT RAFT- I wrote a lengthy trip report on the whole week and it's in one of the later 1990 ACC newletters if someone can dig up the huge newsletter archive I saw at Rendezvous back in 2001 or 2002. Walter? Gordon? Deb? One of you guys or gals out there has it in a closet somewhere. I...

Re: Back in the Day - Old Photos
Gee Whiz!!! Randy!! You and I need to get together next time you make it to Dubuque. Greg's current girlfriend lives there now... As for the 7 pages of pictures, I had to keep a running list of unanswered questions, so bear with me... 1.Joe Spitzmiller's paddle was an orange Seda fiberglass model li...
