Does anyone know if the releases are still going to happen and where?

Re: Video entertainment at Central Chapter Meeting 10/28/08
Don't be surprised if people ask for your autograph after the premiere showing. I'll be sure to identify you on-screen in case no one can recognize you with your head under water. You actually appear much more often in supporting roles than you do as the feature attraction.

Video entertainment at Central Chapter Meeting 10/28/08
The October meeting of the Central Chapter at the Oyster Bar will include a brief video starring nearly everybody I have ever paddled with, especially if you screwed up. Archival footage and never before seen episodes of paddling skill are combined with cutting edge audio in my newest production, &q...

Re: Has anyone seen an open boat do this?
Can't go anytime soon (ruptured disc). I usually start scouting after New Year's, right after modern gun deer season is over. Too many chiggers before cold weather; I let the hunters have their turn in the woods, too. I don't figure you'll get water before spring at the earliest anyway. Count me in ...

Re: Has anyone seen an open boat do this?
I'd like to be part of the photography crew and would like to scout the creek beforehand. I don't remember any public access to the top of the run. Did you work out access with a landowner?

Re: Has anyone seen an open boat do this?
Is that the spot that Rayzor ran over the top, coming in on the right side of the squeeze, when the water was much, much bigger about a year or so ago? If so, It may take me 'til noon to unpucker.

Re: First Annual Fall Swimming Championships
Mitch,
It looks like the lake is dropping about 0.3 feet per day and is 5.6 feet above the normal pool level of 526. It could very well run for more than the next two weeks. Just my guess, haven't talked to anyone at the Corps.

ARKANSAS BOBSLED/KAYAK RUN LOCATION REVEALED
With hurricane Ida approaching, it's time to make the location of this creek/fall run public. I'm out of commission and can't participate. Photos here: http://outdoors.webshots.com/photo/2623436400055833389SjjhyV" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Location here: http://terraser...

Re: Rendezvous Info Updated
In the southeast part of Lake Catherine State Park is a creek named Falls Creek. It spits out into the lake via a 15' or so fall. There's always a catch and this time it is that the pool is pretty shallow. It will be especially shallow now with the lake being drawn down. Of course, the rain will fil...

WHITEWATER AT RENDEZVOUS IF IT RAINS
Don't forget that a couple of fun Class II+ runs are located a few minutes drive from Camp Couchdale: Hot Springs Creek and Gulpha Creek. Both are in the city of Hot Springs. Hot Springs Creek: Gage at ar.water.usgs.gov/hotsprings This is a brand new gage that we have not correlated with visual insp...

Thanks, Stan. I forgot to mention that each participant gets a free T-shirt along with the other freebies.
I think that Susan Tinker is planning to help out with the Caddo River trip; thank you Susan!

Re: 'VOUS HELP NEEDED FOR CATHERINE CLEANUP, CADDO FLOAT
Whatever it was, I didn't know it at the time it happened. I've just got to keep it unloaded for a while by staying in bed, according to the doctor. I'm not getting old or anything like that, but I sure have noticed a lot of my friends are aging something fierce. And my board nickname of "Capta...

'VOUS HELP NEEDED FOR CATHERINE CLEANUP, CADDO FLOAT
I am not going to be able to take part in 'Vous this year as I had planned. I pinched a nerve in my back and broke a finger because of Gustav and need someone to take over coordinating the Saturday events: Lake Catherine cleanup and Caddo float. Can anyone (less prone to injury) help out? These even...

Re: Needed For Rendezvous
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think we also have to clean up the Porterfield side of the river after Rendezvous is over, including hauling off the trash, in order to get our deposit back. If you have space to haul a bag of trash, grab one on the way out!
