Re: Interior Secretary

blanche lincoln? talk about an industry shill you're probably right, Senator Boozman will be much more progressive and rewarding cabinet positions to political fund raisers with little credibility among the professional staff is always a winner Edit - I should qualify that last statement - her $5,0...

Re: Interior Secretary

I still don't buy it - smacks of political correctness, tokenism & self taught "Mastery" - but apparently there's some support from both conservation groups and industry: http://www.politico.com/story/2013/02/obama-to-nominate-rei-chief-sally-jewell-for-interior-secretary-87250.html?hp...

Re: Interior Secretary

wouldn't post anything I haven't read

mechanical engineering and merchandise marketing have very little to do with natural resource management

Really?

REI is a great company, but nominating someone with apparently no natural resource experience outsie of recreation seems foolish at best.

Re: Any bikers? info??

also be aware that most manufacturers have their own take on geometry and will fit various body types differently it's important to get fitted on/for the bike also since a manufacturer's different price levels may have very similar frames but with improved components as price increases, it's a good ...

Re: MORE AND MORE RAIN FOR ARKANSAS

Thanks Jim.

I honestly wasn't trying to impugn anybody's intent - just a thought close to my heart.

As always, I believe that many, if not most, of the nicest, most thoughtful people I know I've met on the water, and many, if not most, of those, populate this message board.

Re: MORE AND MORE RAIN FOR ARKANSAS

I'm always uncomfortable with this line of discussion. A lot of people in S. Louisiana will suffer from this storm.

I can almost understand why Midwestern farmers are praying for the rain - but it doesn't seem quite right to be anticipating the recreational benefits.

Not hatin', just sayin'.

after 35 years of soloing the backwoods & logging roads of Louisiana, south Arkansas & southeast Texas I've decided to buy a pistol resisted for years - had a few cringe worthy encounters, but never actually needed to defend myself with increased access to many remote areas (recreational and...

Re: OT: climbing certification?

Thanks for the info guys - I think the AMGA course was just completed by several Tech students and staff in an onsite workshop. The wall is part of a very generous improvement of the intramural facilities at Tech, so you'd think there would be a committment to keeping it operating, particularly with...

Re: OT: Little Rock yoga?

Thanks Minna - I'll forward that to her. You're close enough, you should come to one of the classes in Ruston sometime - my instructors are really good folks. I had a couple of lower back discs removed serveral years ago - I'm convinced that if I had been practicing then, I would've avoided the surg...
