Re: Bayou Bartholomew

Sorry, I just saw this. I recently did a several day paddle on the lower White River. It was very nice. Since Bayou Bart. Is the longest Bayou in the world, it is certainly tempting to paddle its length. It would be a difficult trip though, since very little has been actually developed as trail. I h...

Re: Water trails

The issue right now is low water. My recommendations would be either the Little Maumelle or Wattensaw Bayou. Both will have enough water to paddle and are very nice. https://www.agfc.com/en/explore-outdoors/wildlife-viewing/water-trails/little-maumelle-river-water-trail/ https://www.agfc.com/en/expl...

The paddle is still on. I will post today. The White River is rising, so it could be an adventure.

Bayou Deview Sunday 3/12

Bayou Deview is on for this weekend; Sunday, March 12. The weather forecast for Saturday is a high of 46 and a 70% chance of rain. Sunday will still be cold, but there is no rain in the forecast and the sun is supposed to come out. So, Sunday it is. The water levels should be good. We will meet at T...

February 18 Maddox Bay Upper Unit of the White River Refuge

Wetland tour at Maddox Bay near Lawrenceville. Saturday Feb. 18. The plan is to paddle from Sweats Landing to Adams Bayou and into Eagles Nest Lake. Forecast is sunny and warm and waterlevels are good, but not enough to bushwhack into Cut Bluff slough as we have done in the past. This should make fo...

Re: Winter/Spring 2016/17 Wetland Touring Schedule

Grassy Lake Wetland Tour #3 Cancelled. The gates at Grassy have been closed, but the lake is filling slowly and is still quite low. We could possibly deal with low water, but the forecast is not so good either. Rainey and 45 degrees on low water doesn't make for a very appealing picture. I will defi...
